The Change Cycle Overview

This tool is an excellent visual aid for helping people articulate their thoughts and feelings about change. Change is difficult for everyone and it’s the responsibility of leaders and managers to support staff (and each other) through each of its stages. Visit the Change Cycle’s website to learn what behaviors, thoughts, and feelings you and your staff may experience and exhibit in the six phases of the cycle. We encourage you to use this tool as a conversation piece to help people identify where they are in the cycle (i.e. “I’m in the Discomfort stage. I feel anxious, my thoughts are confused, and I am unproductive.”) and a tool for problem solving (i.e. “I sense you might be in the Discomfort stage. How can I help you move forward to Discovery?”).
